Brighton Securities, a local and independently owned financial services firm, announced today that it will be co-sponsoring this year's 7th Annual Ovarian & Gynecologic Cancer 5k. Cancer Wellness Connections is a local non-profit organization that provides free outpatient activities to over 12,000 people annually receiving chemotherapy treatment at Rochester area hospitals. Event proceeds will continue to help support the organizations activities, which include personal training, Reiki therapy, yoga, meditation, art therapy, manicures, crafts, games and more.
"A key quality of any employee you will find at Brighton Securities is teamwork. It is a founding principle at our firm and gives us the skills we need to achieve results for our clients" said Joe Boyd, Financial Advisor. Both Joe and his wife, Becca, are committed to the cause not only because of their dedication to the community, but because of their personal ties to cancer research specifically due to the loss of both their adoptive mother and mother, respectively, to cancer in the recent past. "We're expecting at least 40 members on Team Brighton. They can be spotted during the 5k, proudly wearing Team Brighton shirts, and showcasing our commitment to the Greater Rochester community." Brighton Securities is honored to be co-sponsoring this event for the 5th year in a row.
The 7th Annual Ovarian & Gynecologic Cancer 5k will be on Sunday, September 7th at Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Road in Rochester. Pre-registration is at 7:15am, with the race starting at 8:15am.
