May 31, 2023- ROCHESTER, NY--Brighton Securities, a Rochester, NY headquartered Financial Services firm, today announced that The Wade Investment Fund celebrates its first anniversary at SUNY Brockport School of Business & Management. Dr. Sandeep Singh, Brockport, wanted to create an experience for Finance Majors that allowed students to take their classroom learning and apply it to the real world. Thanks to the generosity of several supporters, and the naming investment fund founders Ethan Wade & Chuck Wade of Brighton Securities, of the SUNY Brockport School of Business and Management, that dream became a reality as we celebrate the fund’s first year.
Ethan Wade (Brockport, 2011), Brighton Securities, Chief Development Officer – Senior Vice President, and Chuck Wade (Brockport, 2006), Brighton Securities, Senior Vice President, became the naming donors who founded the investment fun. Since its foundation, the fund has raised over $60,000 with pledges that bring the total to over $100,000. These students report to a Board of Directors each semester, creating economic forecasts and actual investments in Exchanged Traded Funds under the direction of a faculty member. Dr. Singh hopes the fund grows to $1 million dollars to give his students a real taste of investing on wall street.
“The initial group of students set a very high bar in terms of their efforts and dedication in terms of managing the fund this past year and have placed the fund in excellent position to continue to grow and provide a hands-on learning experience for the next set of students” said Chuck Wade. “Ethan and I are both extremely aware how valuable it is to not only gain real-world experience while in college but to begin developing relationships in the community along with your own personal network. We’re thrilled with the work done up to this point and are excited to see how the fund grows well into the future.”
The Wade Investment Fund provides students with the opportunity to manage an investment portfolio. As such, students are responsible for evaluating securities, deciding when to buy and sell securities, and managing the portfolio among other responsibilities. This hands-on experience provides advanced training to students in the field of finance and allows them to manage a real-money portfolio of investments rather than running simulations with hypothetical funds. Training students to manage and administer a real-money investment portfolio is rare among business schools across the country and the experience gained has proved invaluable.

The quality of research and reporting the students are learning and acting on has impressed me beyond my original expectations” said Ethan Wade. “I am most proud that all students who were involved with the Fund initially are still part of the ongoing management as more students have joined. While we will be sad to see students graduate and move on, our hope is that the fund will continue to give back to the future classes of students and the college in ways that far exceed our expectations. Our goal is to help these students receive real life experience so they can differentiate themselves from their competition as they enter the workforce. Go Golden Eagles!”
